Thread: How to delete VLC from situation Menu

In my HP Pavilion dv4-1400 laptop I installed XP Operating System. I want to remove VLC context items from the menu. I tried different method but none of them works out. Can anybody tell me how to remove VLC from Context Menu? Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Follow the steps which may solve your problem:

• Initially uninstall VLC from your System.

• Then download new version of VLC and install it.

• As the time of installing VLC unmarked the "context menu item" option.

• Type Ctrl + R >> type regedit in it and press enter.

• Navigate the following location:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

• Search and delete information about VLC.

Start>Run>regedit
Look under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
