To change the default startup folder for Windows Explorer:
1. Go to Start>> All Programs>> Accessories>> Windows Explorer.
2. Right click on Windows Explorer >> Properties.
3. In the Target box, type the "/root" command-line change to the "%SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe" command, using the startup position that you would like. for instance, if you want Windows Explorer to start at the root of drive D, edit the command to the following:
%SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /root, D:\
4. Click OK.
