There are free antivirus like Avast Free Antivirus 6.0, Microsoft Security Essentials and Panda Cloud Antivirus Free Edition and the commercial solutions such as Bitdefender Internet Security 2012, G Data Internet Security 2012, Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 and Symantec Norton Internet Security 2012 in the comparison test.


The respective products were subjected to in the categories of protection, repair services and an extensive usability testing. This test resulted in an overall grade of the software, which could at best be 18 points. The test platform was Windows XP with Service Pack 3.
