The Raster Operations Unit is the component of a GPU that lends the final touch to the data before it is output to the screen. Operations like Anti-Aliasing are done by the ROP. Data to be sent to an LCD monitor is directed to the DVI outputs. If the data is to be sent to a CRT monitor, the ROP sends the data to the RAMDAC.
