Card sound or sound card is an expansion card for computers that enables audio input and output under the control of a program called driver computer
The typical use of the cards is to provide sound through a program that acts as a mixer which uses multimedia audio component sound and can be managed. These applications encompass multimedia composition and editing of video or audio.
multimedia presentations and entertainment .Some computers have the card already integrated while others require expansion cards.
Incorporates a sound chip usually contains the digital-analog converter its function is to translate forms of waves digitally recorded or generated an analog signal and vice versa.
Synthesizes music using the audio codecs which are programs designed for this function but consume much time of microprocessor. The acoustic signal from a microphone or other sources is introduced into the card connectors. This signal is suitably converted and sent to computer for storage in a specific format.
The information existing digital wave machine is sent to the card. After some processing is expelled through the output connectors to be played through a loudspeaker or other device.
Sound also can be encoded using symbolic representations of their characteristics for example the MIDI format. The card is capable of generating, from these data an audible sound that is also sent to the outputs.
