AMD Radeon HD 6970 state the debut of their Cayman GPU giving important architectural correction stemming from the Radeon HD 5800 range and their currently announced Radeon HD 6800 variety. This marks a leave from AMD's typicl reach to their higher-end design cards namely knowing a card having two of their remaining GPUs as viewed with the Radeon HD 5970.
Enhancements abound with a pair of front end graphics engines made to change working in geometry intensive applications as well as a re-tooled shader architecture and PowerTune technology that targeted to boggle the card's work if it starts to extend its thermal boundaries.
But there are a little caveats in AMD's favor. The 6970 gives a nice range of viewing choice working up a pair of compact DisplayPort 1.2 join a pair DVI connectors and an HDMI 1.4a connector. Nvidia's cards only gives a pair of DVI ports and an HDMI port. And AMD's oft touted Eyefinity technology will also give you to work up to three displays off a single card a feat that Nvidia can't suit. And then there's power supply if you're viewing your electric bill.
All said that 20 difference becomes a trade-off among eking out those previous bit frames on your designer great games or having a bit more versatility in your viewing choice. Nvidia keeps the working crown but the Radeon HD 6970 gives up an attractive well-rounded deal that's tough to beat.
