It is the memory allocated (stolen) for the integrated video card, drive up to par with what is needed and 256 is fixed.

Games are loaded in the first ram of the video card then the ram of the computer.... if you plan to just use the integrated video ram the computer ... marrow is the same if you give less or more memory simply leave the assigned... in short be losing if allocate more memory.
