A die screenshot of Intel's standalone graphics chip, codenamed Larrabee, has recently shown at the Visual Computing Institute of the Saarland University in Germany. The vice president and CTO of Intel Mr. Justin Rattner, showed off a Larrabee the next graphics chip by the Intel of Visual Computing for PC Games Hardware and managed to capture a blurry image of the Larrabee die when shown in a presentation.

The blurry Larrabee die shot showed several cores and Intel had shared Larrabee details in August last year. With a discrete graphics processing chip for delivering stream processing performance, Larrabee is Intel's next weapon to compete with graphics majors leaders like ATI and NVIDIA.

Intel is hesitant to reveal any details about the Larrabee chip and the number of cores it would carry. Hopefully we might get to see Larrabee product at Intel Developer Forum (US) that is scheduled to kick start.
