A few days ago, I was overclocking my graphics card, a 9800gtx. Unusually, and it voltage were well at 819 core, 2048 shader, along with 1250 memory. When I tried to play games like far cry 2, it stopped working and a blue screen appeared. So I underclocked them to almost 800, 2000, 1200, and after that I observed the monitor would flash sometimes, the whole screen would go black, and get back to normal, just for a few second. Regularly, the gleaming enlarged in frequency, finally until the screen remained black. I tried another monitor in the similar port with the unchanged cable, and it was functioning very well, and I tried the broken one in one more PC, by means of d-sub rather than DVI the same problem happened. So what I’m wondering is it likely for a graphics card with bad clocks might ruin my monitor?
