Slightly on the bulkier side compared to the XFX 8800GT Al¬pha Dog Edition (reviewed Jon '08). the 8800GT comes with 512 MB DDR3 RAM. This is based on NVIDIA's latest 8800GT chipset and comes with 600 MHz core clock speed and 900 MHz memory clock speed. One welcome change in this card is the sup¬port for HDML It came with a DVI to HDMI converter.

which can be connected to any of the dual DVI output ports on the card to get HDMI connectivity for your LCD monitor. Other than support. rest all are common features: HDCP sup¬port. SLL HDCP. HDTV. etc. Coming to performance. it did better than XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog Edition (review in this is¬sue). In 3D Mark06 it scored 10839. clearly outscoring XFX 8800GT which managed to score 10736. One reason for its better performance is higher RAM (512 MB vs 256 MB).

It performed better in gaming as well. In Company of Heroes at maximum setting it scored around 133 fps (1280x1024) which is very high and much ahead of that achieved by XFX 8800GT. Even in Crysis it managed a good score of 32.1 fps with 2x anti-aliasing (1280x1024). It's enthralling to see such high scores being achieved though price is on the higher side.
