The LED-backlit BenQ V2200 Eco is milky white with a matte finish. What catches your attention first is a green piece of plastic with blunt spokes of different lengths that sits on the left side of the pedestal. It's meant to signify eco-friendliness but we found It useless and distracting.
The power button is a small round flush-panelled one with a little green LED at its center. The control buttons are rectangular push buttons and are located on the right side panel. The screen can tilt up and down about 10 degrees, but has no swivel. The monitor has HDMI and VGA inputs but it comes bundled with only a VGA cable. The screen measures 21.5 inches and has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The slim bezel makes it look Wider, but the aspect ratio is true 16:9. The brightness and contrast are rated at 250 cdlm' and 1000:1 respectively.
Thus the first thing we have to say is this monitor is super-bright. We had to lower the brightness to well below 50 percent as the contrast was getting affected. The black bars In our 256-level test were all healthy and standing like soldiers, with sufficient detail. The colors were spectacular after adjusting the RGB channels. The motion performance is just like any other TN monitor, which is not bad at all. The BenQ V2200 Eco commands a premium that's justified.
VERDICT: A great monitor for garners and video buffs.
FOR: Very bright backlight, crisp details, clean aesthetics.
AGAINST: Brightness needs to be toned down and calibrated.
