The Asus Designo MS236H breaks all barriers and scales up the path of aesthetic innovation, with a very different concept for the stand. Unlike a standard pedestal, it has a thin round strip to support the LCD panel. It does look like some designer piece of art, but the glossy back front bezel is a serious fingerprint magnet which ruins its class. The bottom left of the frame bears' the Asus logo, while the right side has a round touch-sensitive power button. Also a row of 6 other cqntrol buttons is lined up next to it, all backlit by white LEOs. The 23-inch panel has a rated brightness of 260 cd/m2 and a 2 ms response time.

This is one of the few monitors out there that looks good and performs well. The blacks are deep enough; plus details are visible in dark areas. Whites are pure and well segregated at high intensities. The colors too are so well saturated that watching high-contrast scenes in games and movies was a treat. We played Left 4 Dead 2, and we realized that the response time was impressive with very little motion blur. The 23-inch MS236H is more expensive than entry-level 24-inch LCD monitors. But considering its design and performance, it's worth the money.
