Thread: Display goes blank after welcome screen

Windows XP Pro installed in my computer and when I start the computer, everything looks normal on boot except after the welcome screen, the screen goes blank. The power light on the monitor starts blinking and the indicator light on the tower is still running. I can boot in safe mode and it seems to work fine, so I eliminated bad monitor or driver. What is the exact problem? Give me some proper solution for that. Thanks.

Have you tried using the USE LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION from the F8 Menu? It could be it would not work due to the re-install though. Then I would go into SAFE MODE and REMOVE the display driver and switch to VGA mode. Should permit boot into REAL MODE and once there, re-install the accurate display driver.
