Default Saving energy by strong underclock the GPU in IDLE mode

Hello, I wanted to ask around even know if anyone has ever tried to overclock his Graka in IDLE mode to completely down, the more noticeable to save power. I use an AMD HD 4870 with 512MB GDDR 5 RAM. The factory default clock is 750 MHz (GPU), 900MHz (memory) the dragons they clocked it at 825 MHz / 950, IDLE then to 300 MHz / 500, So now I just wanted to ask if anyone has done this before. The best times total current consumption is measured, a saving of as what? Is there a limit for the underclock? Increases, a lower cycle life GPU?

For old maps that brings quite something, especially if you also can not provide the voltage down. For the HD48xx gibts there, one or the other instructions in the intended network.

The lowest voltage I put in IDLE again, if there is no problem. I just wanted to hear a few student comments, sometimes regardless of the card, if that brings what .

Sure it does what the clock behaves 1:1 to power, the voltage even square. But the share which contributes to the GPU in idle total consumption of the card is likely to be quite low. Eventually you will get errors anyway funny video if you overdo the clock down. In the HD48xx it brings comparatively much because Ati has put as much value yet again saving energy, the successor is already on its much more economica.

Is possible but so rough is the way, there were only feel at the perceived as lukewarm, NEN accalero've built twin turbo, pursuing the fan with 7V, so only manual control for games I can reposition to 12V then it is clearly audible, max. Temps. But when game lie around your imm 50 degrees, mostly clear underneath, Update: at 100/200 MHz PC will boot starts, but only in VGA mode, then seems to be too liberally.
