Designed to be both durable and portable, the Verbatim SmartDisk 120GB is housed in a curved silver coloured alloy case that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. The build quality ofthe casing however is a little questionable. Portable storage devices are meant to be carried and are susceptible to bumps and thuds on desks and in bags, The Verbatim's outer casing seems to be a little fragile. The device is quiet and only gets slightly warm to the touch during operation. The unit can be powered from the host via USB.

The drive comes bundled with Nero BackitUp 2 Essentials software for backing files. The drive is pretty light and weighs only 150 grams, this can be due to the lighter casing and the 2.5in hard drive inside the case. Once attached, the drive emits a blue light from the black border surrounding it. In tests, the Verbatim SmartDisk proved to be a good performer.The only gripe that we have from this drive is the build quality,this one comes with a two year warranty.
