Thread: Doubts about change of OS and drivers

I purchased an HP Pavilion computer (Core 2 Quad 6600) that comes with Vista and I will format it to put a license on my XP. Before loading the original OS, I would like to know what I find and download drivers in addition to the graphics card, audio.... for the computer work properly with XP.

Think that this will have a problem with the XP machine to work properly?

You should look at the HP website for XP drivers for your model of laptop, apart from the graphics card, network and sound, touchpad and the applications that come included.

Before delete Vista take note of brands and models of devices.
Make a copy of the c:\HP drivers folders. This was made for Vista, but can be useful for XP.
First try boot with the XP cd. If recognice the hd, great. If not, download the exactly Sata drivers for floppy (can be usb attach floppy). You also can go to Bios and change the hd to IDE-compatibility mode, but will lost performance.
Then, to partition and format the hd you can use a cd disk Wizard to boot.
