1. The worst -case scenario for a new PC is that its hard disk contains a single massive partition for Vista. Fortunately, using the Disk Management options in the Computer Management Console, the disk can be shrunk to make space for more by right -clicking on the disk and selecting Shrink Volume.
2. In the Shrink dialogue box, change the amount of shrink so that the total size
after the shrink equals the desired size for the Vista system partition - in this case,
61 ,440MB (or 60GB) is the target. Click Shrink.
3. After shrinking, the remaining space is unallocated. A new second partition
can be created in it by right-clicking the unallocated space and selecting New Simple Volume.
