    Default FDD 3.5 hard drive

Acquired internal drive FDD 3.5 HD NEC. Now we can not find its drivers, those that are listed in the price list do not fit (a list in which there is no such a model) have a break the entire internet. Please, can have someone who is did find the driver.

    Thank.

The driver is already in the OS. You just need to include FDD in the BIOS mat. Boards. That is, after the inclusion of a company press DEL and F2 often (you unfortunately do not specify a model math. Fees), the computer is in the setting mode (blue screen). Look where you have written, "FDD - Disable", changed to "FDD - 1, 44 MB", then go to the menu item EXIT and exit to save the settings (Save and exit). Comp restarts - and floppy appears, among other discs, and works without any drivers!

Died two HDD Seagate 7200.11 DiamondMax 1TB and 500GB, the latter was bought three weeks ago.

Diagnosis - when booting BIOS lag 1-2 minutes, after which the disks are not detected. When the screws from the network, no lag.

    What should I do?

    1000GB: ST31000340AS
    500GB: STM3500320AS

At standing system, a lot of data. Survived - had decided to marry off (do not screw it and three months), but here's how it happened. Next spent only three weeks.

You can ask if I have the screws, for example, brought them to our support team?

There is a suspicion that the firmware update may not help, but in any case, contact with the discs under warranty.

The same picture, only the screw 1 TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31000340AS. Only to copy it all and after restarting the computer does not boot, missing screws SATA1 and SATA3. The method of exclusion found that it died this screw. Connect more than one; it in the BIOS is not even defined. Wife in trance, where all its documentation for kindergarten. I understand that, come the end of the controller, this firmware is unlikely to help. How much lead replacement controller? A woman is hard to explain that I have nothing to do with. Yes and I have a whole home film library.

We told you about a very unpleasant bug in the firmware series of Seagate HDD 7200.11, DiamondMax 22 and ES.2, can cause failure of a disk failure - under certain conditions, these discs are destroying the table translator in charge of the transformation of the physical addressing of the disk in logical, which it turns your computer. After this the next time you turn on your computer disk indicates that the volume is 0 GB, and refuses to work. Based on Seagate's website to not only touched 7200.11 series drives with firmware versions of SD2 *, CC * * and LC **. "

This quote - information to the meditation. The fact that Seagate has recognized the error of his ways - well. But how do we? Since the disks are ready at any moment to lose the information collected for years?

For information on the status of the equipment handed over in repair of service at Star Boulevard, 19 can be obtained by calling the warranty department: 786-2339, and can not be obtained by writing to the forum.

If you're still uncertain, is whether the information you provide more than the vehicle, then you may continue to doubt if there is no doubt, then buy another drive and store your data in at least 2 places. And in general, "must mirror more often". What's most amusing, since I switched to RAID1, CDs are no longer dead.

In general, "must mirror more often" And if I have 10-12 screws?

As for the question - try to do everything in my power - including the writing and here. So all the same: ready if Nix increase the safety of my warranty screws purchased in Nix?

On taste and color ... For 14 years I have traveled a lot of screws of different companies, "rained" all. In any firm there are models of good and not very good and sometimes very poor. The causes of failures can be very long, ranging from assembly to shipping, and how the transport of immense expanses of the Russia is no secret. The last five years, using only the products Seagate, before the preferred IBM (now Hitachi). The first time in five years in "breaking off". Although the same barracudas at 500 and 750 gigabytes of working without problems for over 2 years... WD Caviar for the year to cover three things, but it was 10 years ago and since then I do not take them, so as to judge the current screws can not. So neither takes a Seagate, Samsung, Hitachi, etc. nor does gonis for a cheap miser pay twice. Better to take less in volume, but more reliable. If you want to take the 1 TB and above, do not hurry.
