Default The problem with your HDD Western Digital Serial SATA

Bought the hard drive Western Digital Serial SATA 320 GB. Computer old, EliteGroup VIA PT800CE-A Socket478, Intel CPU 1.8, and the old hard drive is connected via multiple plumes at connector for SATA available. When connect a new screw then it is not defined at all, if you connect at once both a only the old screw. Tried to set the jumpers on the screws does not help, while another computer is defined and works properly. Give people know that you can in the BIOS you need some settings to change? Thanks in advance.

To get started, you need to check whether SATA controller in BIOS Setup (must be some significance: either Enable, or IDE), verify that the SATA is not set to RAID. Better to do all of the attached to the motherboard manual.

If the BIOS SATA controller is switched on as needed and you are sure that all hard drives are connected correctly. Then have to be easier to buy an additional controller. Most likely this is a consequence of defective motherboard or incompatibility between the hardware (all the same VIA, there is nothing good).

SATA in the BIOS should be included. In the main screen of BIOS you have and he does not decide, there after passing through POST shall tumble SATA controller VIA, where he should appear. A Windows driver corresponding to it.
