    Default Seagate ST3160023AS hard drive

Dear staff of technical support! There was such an issue. I recently purchased model. So, with the active treatment to the disk (loading the OS, the preservation and copying of a large number of files) is heard quite appreciable noise block heads. It is certainly not extreme loud, but still significantly higher than that of the same series of IBM DTLA. In your experience with this series, they all have this noise or is it a problem needing repair?

Thank you in advance for your reply!

Yes, SATA Baracuda really noisy, but this feature of the model and not a malfunction, but the change of the acoustic treatment is provided, at least we know nothing of the sort. If the noise critical, it should give preference to the normal IDE models - they are significantly quieter.

The noise is not critical. I understand that the screws of this type include the manufacturer to the best performance and for this reason are not available modes to reduce noise. But since the difference in speed is quite articulate, its better that way too, as it is.

The people and what your performance on these screws!!!!!!!!!!! They have little of that crunch as in the raid so that they are neither the speed nor the silence!!!!!!!! and by the way that I just do not screw speed when copying a movie does not rise above 30 MB / s, the truth of the roads are up to 80 MB / s reaches but within minutes of other work fall to 25 MB / s, and that it then for speed if I have to screw in the conventional screw UDMA at constant speed from 45-50 MB / sec. And where the praises speed SATA150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
