Thread: I want to make partitions from my D drive

I am using Windows XP on my laptop. Currently I have only two partitions 'on my hard drive, C and D. I want to make three more partitions from my D drive which is almost half occupied with data. Can you please tell me how to make partitions without deleting any data? Thank you.

The only way you can resize and create partitions with data existing on your hard drive is to use partitioning software such as Partition Magic or Easeus Partition Manager. But in any case, you are advised to backup your data before doing any changes

to the partitions as the data can be permanently lost in case of power failures and hardware errors. The other safer option is to back up the data to another hard drive and repartition the drives according to your requirements. This would involve reinstalling the operating system, drivers and other applications. It can be time consuming.
