    Default how to protect hard disk from virues

    My HD crashed, so I bought a new HD. Can viruses still in other hardware components to infect the new hard drive?
    any help?

    Mostly, no. There is a small chance that a virus may have infected the CMOS memory on your motherboard, but that kind of virus is rare. If you are at all worried that this might be a possibility, then you should flash your system BIOS using a BIOS file downloaded directly from the system maker's Web site.
