Those looking for portable data storage drives have the option of going for a portable external drive or a desktop external drive. The desktop versions are huge and bulky but they are large capacity drives. The portable versions are based on laptop hard drives. Among portable hard drives, we have the Western Digital MyPassport Studio WD2000M that was a good performer but was slightly low on features. A worthy mention - on the 3.5-inch side of things, the Seagate FreeAgent Desk is a basic 1 TB external desktop storage drive. It's a little light on features. It doesn't have eSATA or Firewire.
