I have 250 GB Seagate external hard drive but my PC suddenly stopped identifies drive. It still identifies it as hardware, but drive itself won’t appear in My Computer, and I can’t access any files.
I have 250 GB Seagate external hard drive but my PC suddenly stopped identifies drive. It still identifies it as hardware, but drive itself won’t appear in My Computer, and I can’t access any files.
1) Here are some things to attempt. If you have access to secondary PC or laptop, attempt attaching drive to it by different USB cable. Also attempt unplugging drive from power hole for some seconds and then connecting it again.
2) When you attach usb hard disk or any other usb device you asked for driver. Select "Install from list or Specific location" tick next. Then type C:\WINDOWS\inf in box adds this place in search.
3) Follow the steps given below to solve your problem:
• Connect your external HD
• Right click on My Computer then Click Manage, Disk Management
• Go down to your HD Right click on it choose Change Drive letter and Paths...
• Click Change and choose another drive letter
• Click OK.
