PCs find use both at home and work. Eventually, they become overloaded with user made files or programs that installed. This results in running out of hard disk space. Solution to this problem is to either add new hard disk instead of present hard disk or just add other hard disk that can increase storage capacity.
Instructions
Step 1
Buy new hard disk that gives room to grow system. Suggestion is to purchase largest and best hard disk. Daily, hard disk memory develops cheaper and cheaper. You will never complain about having too much hard disk space.
Step 2
Open PC and check for drive bay that contain disk size. You require rails to mount drive that adjust to fit bigger drive bay. Ensure that there is additional power cable accessible and free connector on one of interface cables. Formats of hard disk will probably be IDE, EIDE, SATA, or SCSI. Every need various kind of interface so you want to check type of interface PC has for hard disks and only buys hard disk that is friendly with interface.
Step 3
Check new hard disk and record any vital data about disk so that it is available after you installed drive. Generally, this contains many cylinders, sectors, disks and total size of drive. The company of disk and model number is vital to maintain.
Step 4
Mount rails on sides of drive and mount drive in drive bay. Ensure that connectors face the inside of PC. Read instructions that come with drive and modify jumper on back of drive to show that it is "slave" drive.

Arrange cables watchfully as you close PC and safe the case. Now you want to find key strokes that shows BIOS screen. Start PC and press key strokes that start BIOS setup.
Step 7
Modify setting showing that you have included new hard disk and if BIOS does not know drive; manually enter drive specifications in user defined mode. Save and close BIOS and wait for PC to restart.
Step 8
Check "My Computer" and ensure that drive displays on list of drives accessible on PC. With new drive, you probably have to format drive before it is working. Format drive and you are set to start enjoying all new storage space.
