Many MacBook PCs come with decent hard drives already installed. Though, if you are running many programs, and saving many kinds of media on PC, it simple to run out of space in short period of time. This is when it is a good idea to upgrade hard drive. Hard drives are difficult devices; but good news is that installing them in MacBook laptop is comparatively simple process. It takes little time and attention to upgrade hard drive, but you enables to do it yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
Ensure MacBook laptop is turned off and turn it upside down. Put in penny into groove in lock in plastic battery cover and turn counter clockwise to release battery cover. Take out rectangular battery by lifting it up and sliding it out of its bay.
Step 2
Find metal L-bracket which runs along within battery bay. Take out four screws which grasp it in position with screwdriver and take out bracket.
Step 3
Find little white tab that sticks out of shorter side of where L-bracket utilized to be. This is hard drive tab. softly pull this tab to release MacBook's metal hard drive from its slot and take out it from PC.
Step 4
Unscrew two pegs on either side of old hard drive which safe metal housing over device. Take out metal housing from old hard drive and fit it over new hard drive. Protect housing with pegs you removed from previous hard drive.
Step 5
Slide new hard drive in slot, with metal connectors facing inner and plastic tab facing outer. Change metal L-bracket and battery. Lock battery cover in place and turn on PC. Hard drive is now upgraded.
