PC that rejects to boot frequently signifies problem with hard drive. When PC is unable to boot from drive itself, you should help it on its way with "boot disk" a disk having needed files to boot to MS-DOS OS. After you have that, you able to run Checkdisk, allowing troubleshooting and repairing problems.
Instructions
• Download "Chkdsk" program for MS-DOS and save it to floppy disk.
• Put in MS-DOS boot disk in PC and start system.
• Press any key when shown to boot from disk, which takes you to command prompt in MS-DOS.
• Put in disk which has "Chkdsk" application.
• Type "X:" and hit "Enter".
• Enter "chkdsk X: /f" and hit "Enter". This starts automatic disk checking process. Checkdisk will then repair problems that fixed on hard drive.
