Copying C drive, known as "Local Disk C:," which is major hard drive in computer, is a great way to defend all of in order on hard drive in case it fails or unintentionally remove a few of information on it. Copying an entire hard drive to another storage device is also known as "backing up." There are many different ways to back up the data on a hard drive.
Instructions
• Attach portable hard drive to computer. Click on the "My Computer" shortcut on desktop and then open "Local Disk C:"
• Emphasize of data in hard drive by pressing Ctrl and A keys concurrently. Right click data and choose "Copy."
• Relapse to "My Computer" and access portable hard drive. Press Ctrl and V keys to move all of data from main hard drive to portable hard drive. Do not access any of the files or programs on the main hard drive while they are copying as that will disrupt the process.
