Thread: Enable or claim IDE HD

I have IDE HD with stored files from windows XP computer that that I now have in my Windows 7 computer. I can place wd800jb in device manager, but does not show up in "Computer" section. It shows me C drive and optical drives. Somebody recommended that I want to take Ownership of it. But I was not successful.

You go to the right click my computer then click manage and then drive management.

The Hard Disk was being predictable storage disk, but had no letter assigned to it. I followed threw and reassigned it letter and that let me right in. And now it is showing up in "Computer".
