Thread: External hard drive cannot be detected

I have taken external hard drive to friend to explain her pictures on external hard drive. Now, laptop cannot notice drive from "My Computer" or "Disk Management" from within "Control Panel". But none of the in sequence actually helped. There's a bit of main files on this hard drive. Anyone tell me what had happened and what I can do to recover files? Please help me to solve this problem.

You go into device Manager and uninstalling drive then shut laptop down plug external drive in then power up laptop and observes if it finds and installs external drive when loading windows.
