Thread: Problem of Hard Drive

I have observed my PC processes have been slowing down. I type in Word, Excel data processing, and when opening more than one IE browser. Is that mainly due to a 6 year old drive? Please help me to solve this problem.

The age of drive won't involve speed of drive. In other words it won't slow down older it gets. The speed degradation is likely to lot of applications operation in background. It could also be due to spyware or virus. Use good antivirus like Nod32 from Eset.com which also has an online scanner. Once you have that cleared away, download auto runs from Sysinternals.com to make sure you are running only the necessary programs.
