Thread: DVD-RW Drive not functioning

My DVD rw is not detecting CD or DVD. I have Pioneer DVD rw. Although I see drive on my Desktop it won't read anything I have checked it with many disc but result is same. So please help me to solve this problem.

I think problems with drivers and so update the virus definition. Go to device manager and then right click on CD and DVD drives choose properties and then you must choose update drivers. Then find drivers that you want to be installed.

Problem is not with software or drivers. Its most likely hardware problem DVD lens would have got much dust or dirt sticked to that making it unable to read. It happens for everyone after some years and when you do no clean DVDs earlier than inserting tray. So it is advisable to allow that for ideal service or attempt lens cleaners.
