Thread: Problem of hard disk that runs without stopping

I have a problem with the pc having windows XP sp3 OS. hard drive keeps turning, indexing is removed and the optimization of the disk too. The machine is run very slow.

No apparent virus. Using process explorer, I see that it is services.exe; it uses 700 kb / sec, all the time and only in writing. In safe mode, same old thing happen. May be the recorder of events? Can be a style of BootVis. But no BootVis . All possible replies and comments are appreciated.

Open MSCONFIG, and look at startup programs. If you find something "dump ..." or something like that, disable it.
