Thread: Hard drive stopped

My friend just gave me a Dell Optiplex GX520 Pentium D. He supposed the hard drive crashed while doing a software advance. I bought a new SATA HD for it. problem: Can I just replace the HD, load the Windows XP Pro disc and install the OS or is there more to it?

The optiplex is so effortless to take apart, it shouldn't take very long to be up and running. Plus, ram is really low-priced... only cost you around $40 to bump it to 2gb.
