Thread: 32 and 64 bit on one hard drive

I have windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit CDs and it is possible to install both on one hard drive. Some programs working on 32 bit and some on 64 bit. So, if I want to use a 32 bit program I can just boot with windows 7 32-bit. If I want to use a 64-bit program I can just boot with windows 7 64-bit. If you know one of the ways to do this, then please let me know. Thank you.

It’s called a dual boot setup. I also do the similar thing in separate drives. Are you sure the 32 bit applications you would like to use won't work under W7 64? Because my entire 32 bit app's work fine under a 64 bit OS. If you’re not sure then installs W7 64 then install your 64 bit apps. Then install a few of the 32 bit apps and give them a go under W7 64.

There is no need to dual boot at all.

X64 should work fine for all your apps. you do leave a partition, boot from the DVD and click Custom, then I think you select Advanced when you reach the HD screen, choose the HD you're installing to, after that click Partition and make a partition that covers half your HD. Later, if you select to trough the x 86 versions, you can expand the partition you installed to wrap the rest of the HD using Disk value.
