Thread: Hard drive detected as removable drive

My issue is that my hard drive WD-250GB is detected as a removable drive. Please help. My system Configuration is AMD Athlon 5200+ Processor and ASUS VM Board 1GB RAM. If you are having any suggestions then reply me. It can helpful to me.

I was also facing such kind of issue; the removable drive is to do with NVIDIA drivers and Windows XP. Try installing the most recent motherboard drivers. There is a quick fix if the issue isn’t solved.

Start > Run> regedit. Browse to

A little registry modify can get rid of the Removable disk icon for your internal drive NVIDIA. Create a new DWORD called Disable Removable and enter the value as 1. Restart Windows to have the changes come into effect.
