Default Hard drive Not noticed by Windows

I lately substituted the Hard drive in a Dell Laptop. The BIOS realizes the fresh drive but windows XP does not. Any ideas as to why it does not and how I may right the position?

Please some help appreciated from you .

the laptop won't appreciate the drive in Windows till it's formatted. Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage . Expand Storage in the left pane if it isn't so soon, and then choose Disk Management . check if your drive shows up here. If so, make a partition of your selecting and format it as NTFS or some you require. and then it should be realized in My Computer.

I'm attempting to install windows XP on the fresh drive but after loading files it says windows cannot find the hard drive. The BIOS/laptop notices the drive right, still, I cannot install the OS later Windows doesn't find drive.

The BIOS and nothing concerned to windows? You have the thought right in Windows. utilizing supervise to format it thus that Windows can consider it. just once again fresh hard drive with no windows .

windows xp won't recognize the drive because windows xp is not there. it's on the previous drive. simply boot from your windows xp CD, you'll be capable to format the drive prior to installing the OS.

If the previous hard drive was removed, then the windows that was on the previous hard drive was also removed. I didn't have some problems while my fresh hard drive was installed into my laptop because Dell had already reinstalled the OS on the new hard drive. windows XP was knew instantly while the new hard drive was installed.
