The super-slim external hard drive (ultra-thin) the new Iomega and Seagate use the new Super Speed USB protocol. Iomega introduces solid-state disk (SSD - roughly translated: hard solid) and Seagate is the product of a traditional HDD drives. Iomega's new SSD is the first device using its USB connection 3 Gbit / sec, also known as Super Speed. External USB 3.0 Flash Drive Iomega's SSD capacities up to 256 GB and a standard size 2.5 inch (6.35 cm) of a built-in hard drive.

USB 3.0 delivers transfer speeds up to 4.8 Gbit / sec, about 10 times compared to the speed of 480 Mbit / sec for USB 2.0 interface. However, most notebooks and desktops today are still not integrated USB 3.0 port, meaning that data is transmitted at a speed of 4.8 Gbit / sec.

Portable external hard drive thinnest of Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex including NTFS driver for Mac, so the files can be stored and accessed from the PC and Mac computers without reformatting.
