In this article we dealt with two hard drives offered by Western Digital and Hitachi. Western Digital Corporation after Seagate is the largest manufacturer of hard drives in the world. the WD was the first to market with an ATA HD with 8MB of cache. All the HD era were equipped with 2MB cache. The Western Digital was also the first manufacturer to offer a hard drive with SATA interface and well 10.000rpm.
Still remains a very good product for users looking for a HD high-performance, without taking a SCSI HD, of course we talk about the Raptor series.
The Japanese company Hitachi has brought to market a HD going to compete directly with HD proposed by the biggest producers of HD in the world. The Hitachi hard drive keeps the historical name Desk star as used by IBM for its HD.
After acquisition IBM, Hitachi has renewed the entire area HD, re branded and personally built, improving the quality and reliability of products, retaining only the name Desk star.
Western Digital hard drive offers a 750GB HD and Japanese manufacturer offers a well-HD 1 terabyte. Both discs have the connection SATAII 3GB / s and spinning at a speed of 7200 rpm.
