Default New PC with old hard drive

    Hi,

I did yesterday assembled a new PC with the following hardware ..

    MSI K9N Neo V2
    Athlon 64 X2 5200 + 2x1024MB cache AM2
    2GB A-Data Vitesta Extreme Edition
XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog Edition 670M
    Corsair HX520W power supply

As an old hard drive diehnt 40GB hard drive (IDE/2MB Cache/7200rpm), as the new that I had ordered arrived broken here. Now I have Vista Home Premium (64bit) on it and Call of Duty 4 And it shakes like hell! I have made the graphics down to 800x600 and it still jerky even if I turn off all the details!

    This is surely net, right?

I mean my system is really that bad?

All the latest drivers installed? AMD's dual core patch installed?

Have all the latest drivers installed. The Dual Core Patch did not work on Vista.

How did you gone ahead during installation? Vista, motherboard drivers, DirectX, video card drivers installed? The CPU is recognized in the BIOS correctly? Power connector on the graphics card there?

Have Vista, motherboard drivers and then install the video driver.

    The CPU (x2 5200 +) expires bios to 2609mhz.

And the current at the Video Card also turn!

May be due to the old drive? This is the 2MB cache with their net more quickly is enough?
