Hi,
I hope you can help me, because I have been searching on Google, but found similar cases, but more has brought me nothing.
The situation is this:
I wanted to use my older (about 2 years old) IDE hard drive from my old PC to my new install to the hard drive still remains. The new PC but supports SATA and not IDE. That is why I bought an enclosure with an IDE-USB converter, which has worked very well. I knew me with external hard drives but not particularly good and do not know how to maintain, etc. containing a long life time guarantee. I have the hard drive more often (about 1 year I had it) is connected and identified.
Recently, she is no longer recognized by the PC but when I plug in. The drive starts only normal (her words, from the noise) but then she makes strange noises heard (not so on as if mechanically damaged, would be rather as if she is constantly trying to read the disk, but can not manage and starts all over again. I know there but unfortunately not so good with out). If I then move the USB connection from the PC, will the plate away for half an second in the workplace and is then again ...
Oh and it's not on my PC. I have it tried out on a laptop
Have Windows Vista.
I hope because you can make something, or at least save the data somehow, because I used the drive as a backup and as all sorts of personal photos, files, etc. on it.
Thank you for your effort ...
