Default Do not want to boot with hdd

I'm fixing a computer virus because they had eaten the operating system, is one of those old half that gradually things will have new (video, much ram, processor seems to be overload , etc) the format and suddenly I started gave me a errror was not a file on your hard disk, restarted and then again you say "format."Everything went fine, copied the files from windows (XP pro) but when restarted it got stuck on the image of the bios where it detects the devices, hence I cannot enter setup or anything. Disconnecting the hard drive everything works fine. I tried resetting the motherboard or plug in a different way the hdd but nothing changes. Hard drive was damaged? How I can fix?

What should I do? Please I need your answers.
