Thread: IDE hard drive not detected

Hi,I have desktop computer, I have intel dual core processor installed in my devnice but my mother board is very old and so are DVD/CD ROM and my hard disk, both are IDE altered, the problem is that there is only one slot for IDE changing devices so for that reason I am not able to attach both the CD/DVD ROM and the hard disk I would really value if you can comment on this.

Well even I face similar type of problem. I too was having an native motherboard and I had just one IDE or PATA port , so my brother told me to go for a jumper and detect in the motherboard this will surely solve your issue.

During setting IDE drives, there are a various configuration changes to judge. Every PATA cable can support up to two drives at one time. The primary drive must have the "master" configuration setting permited, during future must have the "slave" configuration. So here you set a master slave relationship.
