PC printer cartridges have an irritating way of running dry in the middle of an important work. Luckily, there is a simple method for reviving a cartridge so that it may print some more pages, hopefully sufficient to get the work finished.
1. Step 1
Pause or stop the printer the moment that fading pages start to roll off the machine. Click on printer icon and select "Pause" or "Stop Printing" option.
2. Step 2
Open the cover of printer and wait for carriage to stop moving right and left. The carriage must pause near the middle of printer.
3. Step 3
Find small black pack or packs on carriage which are printer cartridges.
4. Step 4
Eliminate printer cartridge as said by company's instructions. Usually, cartridge pulls forward at an angle, and then pops out. Do not try to remove cartridge powerfully.
5. Step 5
Shake every cartridge for about twenty seconds to again allocate the remaining ink inside.
6. Step 6
Polish the nozzles in printer where cartridges were installed with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. This will melt and eliminate dried ink that might be clogging printer, causing pages to print badly.
7. Step 7
Smoothly wash the bottom and back of every printer cartridge with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
8. Step 8
Wait ten minutes for alcohol to disappear and dry entirely.
9. Step 9
The bottom half of the printer cartridge into a bowl of warm water to release the ink inside on cartridges with copper contact strips on underside. Do not immerse the cartridge.
10. Step 10
Wash the cartridges dry with paper towels.
11. Step 11
Substitute the printer cartridges in carriage and close the cover to start again printing. Based on model, cartridge must give enough ink to keep on printing another ten pages.
12. Step 12
Substitute cartridge with a new one as soon as possible.
