Recording audio to your PC is a comparatively easy procedure, and only needs some parts of tools and software to complete. Though, most recent PCs come with necessary hardware fixed, so it's thing of setting up software properly and knowing the best methods to obtain a good recording.
Instructions
1. Step 1
Boot PC and log on.
2. Step 2
Connect external microphone to PC's line-in or microphone-input jack. If PC has an integral microphone, allow it by going to Audio Settings because many integral microphones are disabled by default.
3. Step 3
Launch audio recording software. Go to Options section and choose option to use line-in or microphone input from PC, and use the integral testing feature to make sure that input is effectively coming through. If you see green, yellow and red bars on test screen, this generally means that input is coming through effectively. Attempt to change microphone volume in settings so that speaking in a normal tone of voice only activates green bars.
4. Step 4
Push Record button on software and record the audio you need. When you completed the recording, push Stop button. Then you get chance to save recording to an audio file format like MP3, WAV or other same format. Select a format to save recording, and wait for program to save file. After file is saved, then play the recording like you would play any other audio file.
