Any individual who should relate with workers of external companies may frequently find themselves in possession of many business cards. It becomes tedious or even overwhelming to maintain these business cards in a manageable format. By using a scanner to take an image of business card, an or else bulky collection of same looking cards can be digitized and place into a format that takes up less space and is easily sorted.

Instructions

1. Step 1

Turn on PC and scanner.

2. Step 2

Put business card on apparent bed of scanner.

3. Step 3

Run scanning application.

4. Step 4

Organize the destination for scanned file. This place must be anywhere on PC that you can access easily, like "My Documents" folder.

5. Step 5
Give name to the scanned file. The file name must contain the name of individual, with their company, to permit quicker searching.

6. Step 6

Convert the file type to make sure maximum compatibility. The resolution must be high enough so that all information is visible. Save the file as a .jpg so that colleagues can simply view the file if you send it to them.

This will also create a small file size, which will help to reduce the amount of disk space that every file will use.

7. Step 7

Begin the scan. Some scanning software will permit you to preview and crop the scanned image before it is finalized and written to hard drive. If software gives this option, crop the image to only contain the business card. This will minimize file size.
