Instructions

Removing the Keyboard

1. Step 1

Turn off laptop and detach all power sources from machine. Take out battery and unplug the AC adapter.

2. Step 2

Open the laptop screen as much as it will go; remaining screen plane on work surface.

3. Step 3

Find small indentation on the right side of PC. Softly put in slotted screwdriver to slot and pry the hinge cover up. Pry the hinge cover up from right to left until it comes movable then delete it from laptop.

4. Step 4

Remove three screws beside the top edge of the laptop with screwdriver.

5. Step 5

Pick up the keyboard by top edge, revealing the internals of laptop. Find bright blue pull tab at the end of ribbon cable that attaches keyboard to laptop and softly pull the tab to detach the keyboard from laptop.

Replace the Keyboard

Step 1

Arrange tabs beside the bottom edge of keyboard with the slots in laptop. Press keyboard cable connector into the slot on system board.

Step 2

Put the keyboard down; ensure that tabs lock simply into their slots. Screw the keyboard into position beside the top edge.

Step 3

Change the hinge cover by putting left edge of cover into the slot and softly pushing cover into place from left to right.
