On a PC motherboard, the chipset controls all of the basic parts that we take for established. These parts, based on PC, may contain USB ports, hard disk controllers and ports that expansion cards plug into. Also, chipset eases communication between all devices and CPU. Thus, chipset matters a great deal overall performance of a PC, and ensuring that chipset drivers are kept updated is very important. Use DriverMax to test chipset drivers and download new ones if wanted.
Instructions
1. Step 1
Download and install DriverMax. After application is installed, you get a message that DriverMax wants to index all drivers. Click "OK." This procedure may take some minutes.
2. Step 2
Click "Finish" to run DriverMax.
3. Step 3
Click the link "Not registered--please click here."
4. Step 4
Enter a user name, your real name, email address and pick a password. Tick "Next."
5. Step 5
Checks the email addresses that given for an email from DriverMax team. Click the link supplied in email to confirm account. The validation is instant.
6. Step 6
Double tick the DriverMax icon in lower-right corner of screen. It will scan PC for driver updates. When no items are left in the area of the window labeled "Download and upload queue," the process is completed.
7. Step 7
Tick "Available Updates" tab. If chipset drivers want updating, they displayed on list as some devices, like "USB Root Hub," "PCI Express Root Port" and "Serial ATA Storage Controller." All of these devices will be shown with name of a particular company. The most general chipset companies are Intel, nVidia, VIA and SiS.
8. Step 8
Double tick on any of chipset linked items on list, then tick the button "Display updates for the selected driver only." This will bring to DriverMax website, where you can notice the updated drivers available for device, along with comments posted by users.
9. Step 9
Click “Download driver” if driver is digitally signed, and comments from users is positive. Click "Free user" link, and driver will be downloaded. After it is downloaded, tick "OK" to open it with DriverMax. You will be returned to DriverMax window, and driver will be shown in the download and upload queue.
10. Step 10
Do again steps 8 and 9 for all of the available updates shown.
11. Step 11
Click "Install drivers" to continue with installation.
12. Step 12
Click on "Select All" if you downloaded many drivers, and then tick "Next."
13. Step 13
Take out the check from the box named "Install unsigned drivers without asking for
confirmation," and tick "Next." The driver installation will start. This procedure takes some minutes. Click "Yes" to reboot PC after drivers are installed. Your chipset drivers are now updated.
