How to Connect an Interactive whiteboard to a Computer
These want a PC to work. Then get in a room containing whiteboard set up with no PC joined. Earlier whiteboards utilized serial ports to attach to PCs. Instructions
1. Step 1
Power up laptop and projector. Ensure that interactive whiteboard is plugged in.
2. Step 2
Connect a VGA cable from laptop to VGA connection on faceplate at PC station.
3. Step 3
Connect an A/B USB cable from laptop to Cat5-to-USB extender. The extender will recognize a Type B plug, which is square connection. The other end, going in laptop, will want to be a Type A plug, which is flat connection.
4. Step 4
Fix the Ethernet patch cable between Cat5 USB extender and Ethernet jack in faceplate.
5. Step 5
Put laptop to video out mode. On many laptops, this involves pressing "Function" key, then press "F5." If you are unsure which "F" key to press, look for a small icon featuring a monitor. Usually, that will be VGA out key. Toggle video out by keep on pressing function key until you get an image on both laptop screen and on interactive whiteboard.
