Notebook PCs are very complex and finely engineered devices. Unlike desktop PCs, they are not as "user friendly" when it do repairs. Though, notebook owners can capably do some easy procedures without expert skills or special tools so long as they utilize great care. Laptop electronics are unforgiving when it comes to mistakes make one and you will harm laptop even further.

Instructions

1. Step 1

Organize the work surface. Place the notebook, bottom side up, on a flat, clear desk surface, rather with some type of cloth mat or padding to shield cover of notebook from scratches. Place a "frame" created of some sheets of blank paper around side and top of notebook. Place aside a pen and a dispenser of tape near. Light up the work area brightly. A magnifying glass is also useful. Also you want many tiny Phillips and flat head screwdrivers, in "jeweler's" size. Couple tweezers with well, pointed ends will be useful too.

2. Step 2

Search the Internet for any information about laptop, particularly how to correctly open the case for precise make and model. "Close" is not close enough. Models in similar maker family can be different. If you get a tutorial on opening case, study it. If you do not get a tutorial online, you will be "operating on the patient" basically blind reconsider the project now.

3. Step 3

Detach AC adapter plug and battery. Discharge any hidden electricity by pushing power button for some seconds. Unscrew the port covers for RAM, hard drive, and wireless card. Kindly take out hard drive.

4. Step 4

Take out all screws on underneath of notebook. Tie the screws to paper and look number of screws and where they are "belong" like "10 bottom screws." Rotate the notebook and cover should be open as much as it will go. From Small flat-head screwdriver and kindly search whether top bezel of notebook will pop free from base bezel. If top bezel will not pop off the base, there may be hidden screws holding it in place. Take out keyboard as companies directions. Look for any screws under the keyboard that may be holding the top and base jointly. As you take out screws, tie them to paper and label them.

5. Step 5

Check internal workings of notebook to look for any problems. E.g. dust and pet hair can frequently block a processor heat sink fan; eliminate any obstacles in fan. AC power jacks snap off motherboards regularly. If you get AC jack has been not working, you require an expert repair or a new motherboard. Few processor chips are consumable on notebooks, as other chips are permanent. Solve as you able, in your electronics experience.

6. Step 6

Reassemble the parts in right order, using paper "guides." Put back all the screws. Check the notebook. If it will not power up, look for help of a professional.
